A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Westgrove Primary School is a safe, inclusive and supportive community that empowers students with the tools to reach their individual potential.
Our guiding values are respect, inclusion, learning and safety. These values define our behaviour and underpin all decision making. We are committed to ensuring that we treat one another and the environment with respect, are honest in our endeavours and interactions, persevere to achieve our goals, demonstrate empathy for all members of our community and at all times embrace inclusive practices. We are striving to develop a toolbox of strategies to help us become more resilient and we are collaborative in both our learning and decision making.

The school-wide positive behaviour pillars of be safe, be respectful and be a learner are embedded in our practice across the school. Our school community is representative of the wider community and is inclusive of many cultures, religions, viewpoints and perspectives. We have worked closely with Berry St and the Resilience Project over the past two years to build the skills of our students to be inclusive, tolerant and kind to each other as well as to learn to regulate their own feelings and behaviours. We are working hard to acknowledge and encourage value informed behaviours amongst all members of the school community.

Our curriculum is engaging and differentiated, and staff work very hard to ensure that all students are receiving the support and challenges that they need. Just as we are committed to our students reaching their potential, we are also committed to our staff and provide regular professional learning and coaching to support their growth.

We believe a strong partnership between families and the school is paramount and provides the best opportunity for success for our students. We encourage you to become involved in school activities, use Compass to stay in touch with staff and our events and keep a dialogue with the teachers. We offer parent information and support sessions on a variety of topics throughout the year and would love to see you at these events.
